Finding Marketing/Advertising Spend Data and Student Acquisition Costs in UK Higher Education

Does anyone know where I can find data relating to:

the annual marketing/advertising spend for each of the UK universities?
the cost of acquisition of a student?

(Even more detailed breakdowns would help; for example, cost of acquisition for a prospectus mailout?)

Ideally, I'd like a single source with a breakdown for each HEI, but I guess that data isn't aggregated cleanly anywhere?

So where should I look in individual university accounts?

Does anyone have a good form of words for an FOI request to s single HEI that stands a good chance of: a) getting this data at all; b) getting it in a "data" palatable way (i.e. not PDF!)
